If you are looking for a cheap night for your and your buddies, Delirium is the place to do it. Not only are the Tecates $2 to begin with, but you get a free bottle of champagne for you and your table on your birthday. Granted, the champagne is not Veuve Clicquot, but it's a great way to start your celebrations without breaking the bank.

$30 gift certificate @ Benihana
Now that Steve Aoki is on his own, living the life of a successful DJ, he - in theory - no longer needs to rely on his Dad to pay his bills. As a celebration, Rocky Aoki, the founder of Benihana and father of Steve Aoki, is offering a $30 gift certificate to those special birthdays boys and girls among us!
Just kidding. In all reality, I think Benihana has been doing this all along, and Aoki Jr. most likely is financially sound. The gift certificate, however, is seriously real and you should take advantage of it. I have never been to Benihana and will have to wait until one of my birthday buddies invites me because I just missed it. The coupon is only handed out the month of your bday, not two weeks prior and post the day of your birthday. Even though mine was 4 days ago, I signed up for the newsletter in August and not in July. : (
To take advantage, check out Benihana.com and go to the chefs table to sign up for your birthday gift. If you go, please let me know how it is! Even better, invite me along!
P.s Benihana in SF is located in Japan town: Dinner at Benihana followed by sake bombing on filmore? Sounds like a fun b-day to me!

Sephora beauty insiders only!
See that? Yupp, that's right. That is my birthday gift from Sephora. And I could not be happier with it. Not only did I bring that home, but I also snagged a full sized sample of Buxom lip gloss! My co-worker also hit the bank - and it was not even her birthday. Way to go Sara! Needless to say, I absolutely love Sephora. Who doesn't? They have fabulous products, great stores, generous staff and an award winning gift program. Ok, so I do not know if they have won any awards for it, but if they havn't they should! Not only do they give you a birthday gift (the highlight of this blog post) but they have samples, samples, samples! Yes, yes, they have won me over with their fantastic sampling.
To get this b-day perk, sign up to become a beauty insider here. The program also allows you to gather points and redeem them online or in the stores for various product samples. The sign up location is a little hidden: it is right below the product spot at the top of the page. Enjoy and let me know what gift you bring home!

Cold Stone Creamery Birthday club!
Cold Stone may not even be in the same realm of creameries such as Bi Rite (San Francisco) or ICI (Berkeley), but it certainly is nothing to sneeze at. Although they may not be local to the bay area, they mix up your choice of ice cream with toppings such as chocolate or fresh berries. And if you are in a particuarly festive birthday mood, try their Birthday Cake Remix (cupcake batter ice cream, sprinkles, brownies and fudge). They even have a birthday offer: if you sign up their site and click on the my birthday club button in the nav, you can register with the site and Cold Stone will send you a coupon for a free ice cream! How delightful. Although my birthday just passed, many sites offer a grace period of two weeks. I plan to get my scoop later this week...
Introducing...
Bay Area Birthday! Dedicated to bring you the best birthday discounts and freebies the bay has to offer.
The idea sprang into my head last week: I was planning for my upcoming 24th birthday. Seeing that San Francisco has such a long list of events happening every single weekend, I thought, this shouldn't be a problem. After conducting several simple Google searches on birthday ideas in the bay, I was shocked at the mediocre results. I took this problem into my own hands, called a few friends, and came up with some great themed party ideas. Pirate party? Renting out a room at a restaurant? A seafood extravaganza? Although the ideas were extraordinary, so were the price tags. Considering that the bay area is such an active, tech oriented area, I figured, there had to be a site dedicated to birthday freebies. Again, I was stumped. So, I get to my main point, the creation of this site: dedicated to publicizing bay area birthday activities and birthday discounts. Here's my promise: I will come up with a blog post of discounted - or free - current birthday activities. If its your birthday, go check it out. When the day is over, come back! Comment on the discount; was it fun, did the vendor honor the bargain, did they give you another free round of drinks? In the end, everyone wins, the vendor gets business, you are happy about the freebie, and I get blog traffic! So, keep you eyes open and let me know if you or a friend are having a birthday soon!
